Life Care Center of Plainwell is located in the beautiful, historic city of Plainwell, Michigan. Known as the Island City due to the split in the Kalamazoo River’s path through the city, Plainwell is just a short drive from Grand Rapids and all it has to offer. For a day trip, we suggest:
- John Ball Zoo is Grand Rapids’ only zoo, housing more than 250 species of animals.
- The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum is one of the 13 presidential libraries administered by the National Archives and Records Administration. Featuring more than just a comprehensive library, the museum presents the highlights of the lives of President and Mrs. Ford.
- The Grand Rapids Public Museum is one of the oldest museums in the United States. This three-story, downtown riverfront building houses collections and exhibits featuring the Anishnabek Native Americans, Grand Rapids’ history as a furniture manufacturing hub and a detailed recreation of an 1890s street scene.
