On July 5, 2016, Richard “Dick” Handy celebrated his 102nd birthday at Life Care Center of Plainwell, Michigan, where he is a resident. The center threw a karaoke party for Handy on his birthday, and the following Sunday, he celebrated with more than 150 family members at Grove Street Café in Delton.
Born in Marion, Michigan, Handy worked on a farm from the age of 11 to the age of 27.
When Judith Rambo had a stroke in November 2015, her right side was severely affected.
On Nov. 24, Rambo arrived at Life Care Center of Plainwell, Michigan, for rehabilitation. At the time, she was unable to sit up on her own or speak more than a few words. She was also on a feeding tube.
After having a left knee replacement, 60-year-old Amalia Boulter needed rehabilitation so she could be ready to return home.
Boulter came to Life Care Center of Plainwell on Feb. 5, 2016, for physical and occupational therapies. When she arrived, she was in a lot of post-surgery pain and could only walk 10 feet with a walker. She also needed help with getting dressed and bathing.
